So my brother is living in Mexico this summer and I didn't realize how much I would miss him until now. We had the brother-sister, I-love-you-I-hate-you relationship when we were growing up but in the past few years, we have developed a respect and love for each other that I really never expected.

All that to say that I really miss him :( He's only been gone for two weeks and I catch myself about to call him and then realize that he's not in Corvallis right now... he's in freakin' Mexico! I also am in the habit of checking his blog named "Morelia 2008" every day to see if he has posted new pictures or a new message about his life there. I'm not stalking him... it's more of a I'm-worried-about-you-so-will-you-just-show-me-that-you're-alright thing.

I think at the bottom of all of this is that I love my brother and I'm worried for him on some level because he's still struggling with his Spanish and making new friends (two things that are totally understandable when you study abroad). I pray that he finds encouragement and can be honest with me about what he's strugling with and what he's excited about.

A Stompin' Good Time

So I've discovered a few identities that I want to live out at some point...

1) Being a midwestern middle-aged woman named Pam who appreciates fuscia-colored blazers and cream-colored high heels to boot.

2) Being a hard-aced stompin' sista who talks out major problems and knows every beat in the book... oh yeah... and wears grungy/baggy clothes and gangsta' bandanas.

3) Being a talkative and candid British chica who knows what she wants... and she wants tea and good company.

So get ready... some day you might me gossipy Pam or you might face the stompin' sista that knows the beat and lives it!

Cloud Heaven

ok... due to the awesome ladies of the "GAL", I've decided to first and foremost blog about the design I chose for my blog: clouds. Today, I went to Midtown for the first time ever (by the way, I thought it was a totally amazing combination of Tuscany, bold art and wine... all good things) and I looked outside for a moment and just soaked in the sky. The clouds had that silver-lining look that just reminded me how glorious God is... even in a simple things like clouds. I guess it reminded me of the time my family and I took a plane trip to Disneyland and when I looked out the window, the clouds were bright, brilliant and beautiful (ironically Disney-like). And then... I decided to look in my Bible for references on clouds and this is what I happened upon... 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words". Pretty much, after reading this verse I just got stoked about heaven and that looking at the clouds in our Earthly sky doesn't even come close to the clouds in heaven. How sweet is that?!? And I guess when I look at clouds, I'm able to daydream about being somewhere far away from where I am like Paris or Greece or Spain... pretty much the places I want to travel to... that'll be another blog in itself. So... all in all, clouds embody my dreams, my hopes and my past. They may be simple but that's what makes them awesome!
